The cookies keep their shape during baking and do not spread very much so they keep there shape very well. After mixing the dough, you can put it in the fridge wrapped in wax paper for about 3 days or put in the freezer for 3 months.

Sift together 2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt and 1 cup flour. Cream 2 sticks of butter with 2 cups sugar. Add 4 eggs, one at a time. Add sifted flour mixture. Add 1/4 cup milk and 1 tsp vanilla. If desired, you can also add 1/4 - 1/2 tsp of lemon or orange extract. Add approx. 6 cups of flour (more or less until it is proper rolling consistency).

Roll out dough on surface dusted with powdered sugar (keep from adding additional flour, making cookies tough). Cut into desired shapes and baked on greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees until edges just start to color (approx. 10 -12mins). If you like a crisper cookie, you can bake until the cookies are a light tan (approx 12 - 15 mins).

Good luck!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00645803309251169372noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7123058782237240047.post-91334036732955328322010-11-11T13:02:33.070-08:002010-11-11T13:02:33.070-08:00Patty, there is a link in my sidebar for Frosted B...Patty, there is a link in my sidebar for Frosted Butter Cutouts. They are the ones I use all the time. I always let my dough chill overnight.Beahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01012163754907975057noreply@blogger.com
