Sunday night, my left foot slipped on something wet on the kitchen floor and I went down on my right knee and fractured my knee cap. The same one I broke three years ago.
If it wasn't for the pain, this would be hilarious.
I can't get into see the orthopedic surgeon until Monday and I seriously don't know if I will last until then. They put an immobilizer on my leg in the ER and that has really helped with the pain but it is still awful. If I keep my right leg straight, I can ease myself into a chair or my bed. (Plus I'm using a walker to get around and avoid putting any weight on my leg.) But to swing my leg up into the bed causes pain like you can't imagine. Last night I did just that and then laid in bed for five minutes waiting for the pain to subside. If someone is around, they can lift up my leg by the ankle and raise it until it's on the bed which is tolerable. But if no one is around to do that, I'm screwed. Of all the times not to have a personal assistant. Or a butler. Or even a husband.
Last time I did this, and no, I still can't believe I did it again, I was admitted to the hospital and they did surgery and after that I was pain free. This is different because it's still hurting three days later.
I'm off to see what other shows are saved on the DVR to watch. Unless someone wants to come over and pick up my leg and put it on the bed for me. I'll give you a dollar.
On the bright side, looks like I will have lots of time to make stuff. Including a sampler that reads "I can't believe I broke my fucking knee again."

How awful! Nothing hilarious there that I can see. And Monday sounds like a long way off about now. Hope the pain eases up before then (or a white knight in shining armor arrives to help you!)
i wish you were closer to me! i'd help you in a heartbeat! ouchy~ouchy~ouchy~
sorry to hear this patty!
Niki (I've switched my blog from pumpkin country btw)
Ouch! I hope you can get it sorted soon and heal quickly
Oh. My. Gawd. I'm sooo sorry, Patty! If I were nearby, I'd come pick up your leg and you wouldn't even have to pay me a dollar. Hang in there, sweet girl.
Denise
Oh you poor dear! That downright sucks! I hope they get you fixed up right away.
I am so sorry. We could have walker races. When I bought a set of rehab gear there was a "leg-lifter" thingy just for that purpose. Like a loop on a long set of cords. Got it at the hospital gift shop.
I have an appointment Monday too. We can count down the hours together.
Oh my gosh, So sorry to hear this! Sounds painful!
Thank you so much for your kind words on my blog! I didn't have it set up to get notifications, so I didn't see your comments until today. Hmmmm, I think I need a blogging 101 class.
Oh, and Beowoof is a Puggle--Beagle mixed with a Pug. He's really Beagle-y though.
I hope you're feeling better!

Patty--how're you doing now? Any better? Been back to the doctor yet? If I didn't live halway across the country, I'd come and be your personal assistant.
